HISTORY

  • Buckeye Partners, L.P. ("Buckeye" or "BPL") was founded by the Standard Oil Company in 1886
  • Buckeye became a publicly owned, independent pipeline company in 1911
  • The Buckeye Development & Logistics group stems from a subsidiary of Houston Oil & Minerals Corporation ("HO&M") formed in 1973
  • In 1981, Tenneco purchased HO&M and formed Seagull Energy as a NYSE Company
  • Seagull Energy continued to grow and expand its operations until it became one of the largest intrastate pipeline operations in Texas and the Gulf of Mexico
  • In 1986, BPL became the USA’s first pipeline Master Limited Partnership
  • In 1999, BPL purchased certain assets of Seagull Energy and renamed it Buckeye Gulf Coast Pipe line L.P. ("BGC")
  • In 2010, BGC rebranded itself as Buckeye Development & Logistics, LLC to better represent its focus of providing services in other areas
